Keeping the my old 350i on the road on a budget aint easy. I've been putting off a refurb of carpets and seats for a while now until I can afford it. Gives me time to research if nothing else.
The seats are about shot, and in the series one 350's are not very good for driver comfort or lumbar support.
My predicament is to either re-trim and keep them original (the car is very original with no mods, it's as it came out of the factory) or replace with......? I've heard MX5 are a nice fit and easier on the old back.
Any thoughts.

I'm not at all sure what the differences are between a 350 and a 400 regarding seat mountings but 'al 350i' has fitted Mazda RX8 seats to his 400se............

The main problem with replacing the seats in a wedge is that they need to be quite narrow to fit properly. I replaced the seats in my old 350i with Griff/Chimp seats that I bought on ebay - they bolted in to the existing mounting holes in the floor and are the right width.

Ive got nissan nsx seats in mine..They are a little tight..Apparently MX seats are a better fit, Although TVR seats from another model might be the way to go..I know when i was looking into getting my original seats refurbed i was quoted £600 the pair so it might be worth looking down an alternate route...Ziga

I think only problem with replacing will be getting a colour that matches or contrasts nicely to the dash and console, as I don't intend to refurb them as they are still OK.
I'll keep a look out over the next few months and see what's about.
