Since I took up running, cycling, circuit training, the gym etc. I now sweat like a scouser in Dixons during the day. Not much of an issue when exercising but when I'm at work in my office its a PITA. I've tried these 24hr or 48hr sprays but they don't seem very effective. I've even contemplated shaving my armpits (for a brief second!) to ensure more spray gets onto my underarms.

Ideas, suggestions...?

Roll on instead of a spray. I find Sure good personally, never had much success with any spray on types.

Dove and cologne.

Re bald pits - you might find you actually get a bit sweatier...

Use Driclor overnight (it stings). Try for two nights. It really really works well. Problem solved! Nothing wrong with trimming the hair back either!

You might have thought about this already, but deodorants kill smell and antiperspirants work differently to stop you sweating, so you need to get those if the issue's too much sweat rather than smelling bad.

As a matter of interest, do you know why you're sweating more even when not exercising? Seems counter-intuitive to me.

Odiban, works brilliantly. You can get it from amazon but follow the instructions. Too much and it stings like crazy

yes

Is your concern the smell or wet armpits?

Bicarb of soda dabbed on with cotton wool, then antiperspirant on top

Perspirex, expensive but it's the only thing that stops my pits sweating like mental. Roll it on at night before you go to sleep, wash it off in the morning for a week then only need to use it twice a week after the first week.

been using this for a good 7+ years now without fail. used to use the roll-on but the last year or 2 have been using the spray. nice because it doesn't leave your 'pits feeling freezing and wet when you spray it on!

Mitchum powerfresh roll on. It's for menopausal women but smells of baby powder and is 10000% effective. There's a no fragrance one as well

Accept no substitute.

THIS

or Driclor.

Used to sweat like the proverbial, used some of this stuff a few years back every night for a month - not joking when I say I no longer even have to use it. Christ knows what it's done to my arm pits:-)

I too do the gym at lunchtime and occasionally have a "glow" at the office. Three things I found that worked for me was turning the shower to cold after washing. This cools the old bod down so it's not still trying to sweat to cool down. In an ideal world we'd have a nice cooldown after the main bit of exercise, but it isn't always possible, so this stops the actual mechanism of sweating.

Second is to ensure the pits are properly dry before spraying. I've managed to dry one and leave the other one damp and then had a one-sided sweat-patch. Proper odd looking!

Third is to switch brands each time I buy a can. I've found sticking to one brand tends to lessen the effect, though this may just be me, or my propensity for buying whatever is on a deal...

I run and cycle tons and have always used roll-on everyday, no smell at all.

Figured it can't be all too healthy pasting your glands with that stuff so tried to cut it out - result was a mega smell after 3 days, plus an actual pain under my arms.

Through trial and error I seem to have fixed with a combination of.....

Cold showers (!!!!) and light use of roll on (every few days)

The shower takes some getting used to, but now i actually look forward to it!

My 2 cents, anyways.

I have found most sprays leave nasty marks on your shirts so I went on to sticks. Currently using this one from Khiels I was bought for xmas- http://www.kiehls.co.uk/men/body/cross-terrain-ant... - and been pretty impressed so far.

ps if you suffer from sweaty feet I can highly recommend their footcream too biggrin

As posted already you want an antiperspirant not a stench masking deodorant;)
Normal run of the mill "sprays" contain many ingredients but not in high enough levels..... Odaban, Anhydrol forte and Driclor are the best on the market by far and work 100%.

Odaban is the easiest to use as it has a pump action so you get a nice even cover with a lower risk of the sting (roll on will sting as it applies more in a small area). It can also be used easier on the feet and hands id you wish.

+1

Works brilliant, I used to sweat loads, doing just normal day to day stuff. Put that on every so often and it lasts for a day or two. Stings like hell though, thought I was going to die the first time!
