Having made an impulse Ebay purchase, I now need to move a 2.5 tonne 4x4 from Lincolnshire to North Bucks (130 miles)! Unfortunately, I don't have, or know anyone with, a tow vehicle and/or trailer capable of moving this weight of car.

Said vehicle can be driven in 1st at up to about 30 mph (until it overheats), so that is a possibility, but may take a while!

I'm sure a professional will shift it for me - probably for more than I paid for the car in the first place wink, so I'm wondering if anyone here can suggest someone or someway of moving it in return for fuel used and a large drink! Ideally this Friday...

Open to suggestions

Do you have a personal AA/RAC card that gives you recovery home?

If so, drive the car off the drive you have bought the car from, remove a few of the fuses from the car and all of the spare ones and get towed/trailered home by the recovery man.

Unfortunately not - only cover on individual vehicles (one via insurance, other via bank, but had to nominate vehicle, and limited to 10 miles anyway!)

Try Shiply auction site for moving cars and other stuff, just moved my old Porka 34miles for £50 inc fee of £7. Obviously 130miles is going to cost some diesel... You can also read the transporters feedback first.
