As per the title. the folks in law cars are coming of age (3 years) and they both fancy a change.

Last time before the Audi options were Aston or a Masserati or something special. But still needs to be 'sensible' as they are not really into cars. Both are in there mid / late 60s.

She wants to replace the Freelander 2 (I still proclaim they should have gone discovery). They have had the Range Rover Sport, but since the Freelander gone off them. (should have test driven and not just ordered one)

I'm told that a Jeep Cherokee is favourite as had one 10 years ago and thought it good.

I'm thinking Volvo XC90 for her and not sure...

What's your thoughts???

Arrh yes, a 3 year old car is simply not worth the bother anymore. Simply must change them before people start talking about it wink

I agree hence I said that I would buy the S5 off them for the trade in value offered.

What about the Evoque? Sounds like it could be a winner...

Without knowing budget and what they want/don't want from them any suggestions are nothing more than stabs in the dark.

Does the FL2 need to be replaced with another 4x4? If so how big, what type, is fuel an issue?

Personally I much prefer Land Rover's and Jeeps, so that's where I'd be heading. Although I don't mind the Cayenne or Touarwg either. But I'd personally not be looking at BMW's or Mercs (unless a G-Wagen).

But maybe a top spec Rav4 or Subaru Legacy Outback might suit more? Really depends what it is they are after.

As for the S5 replacement - ?????? Where to start, honestly I have no idea. Although if they aren't car people, does it really matter?

My thoughts exactly. Surely the answer here is either "A blue car and a red car", or, more probably "two cars with premium badges on the front which are better than those of the Pilkington-Smythes next door", which, if they buy unseen and aren't really bothered what it is, sounds like their principal selection method.
