Chaps, I have a Mk2 Focus that's developed a dash fault.

The battery warning light came on last night, this morning the thing lit up like a Christmas tree. ABS, Handbrake, Skid, even the info display started telling me the power steering had failed, even though it functioned.

The heater system started shutting off, then all power went to the dash, instruments the lot. The car kept going and the dash came back to life ?

Common fault ?

2005 on model?

If so mine did it.

Had it fault read at FORD (£100) and it was a "ribbon cable" apparently.

£15 for the part.

£60 of fitting.

Done.

Mine was 1600tdci on a 2005 plate if that helps

Sounds like a similar problem, I'll get it looked at by the garage.

2007 model.

Mine just put every fault light going on the dash, out of know here. But drove champion.

If someone else can fault code you'll be fine.

Mine was 4 year old and on about 110,000 miles iirc

There is a known fault with the ribbon cable bba reman can repair them cheaper than the dealer although turn around will be @ a week so depends if you can lose the car that long but before you right off the dash be worth checking the battery connections are tight & also the alternator smile
