Hi lads need some help can someone tell me what car the griff alternator is off ,is it a /range rover land rover part tried looking on pistonheads but no luck some help with this would be great many thanks paul

Thats why I said just LR instead of being specific.

I would look at getting yours refurbed....easier sometimes.

You need one of a 3.5l ealy Disco 200 series V8,1989-93,pre serp Disco!,I have more Rover V8 engines kicking about than you can shake a stick at!all serp i'm afraid.I got the alternator rebuild on my Disco 2 V8 cost £100.
280716551095 this one on ebay should fit the bill!

Hi Paul, there is a thread somewhere on here that I placed some information. Anyway, to help you, I have just replace the alternator on my 92 4.3 Pre-Cat. I recognised the alternator as the same as on my Land Rover defender. I bought one very reasonably from eBay, see this link:

Land Rover parts are much cheaper than those marketed exclusively for TVR's. It came within a couple of days and was a perfect fit. Good luck, Pete

Its also the same as used on some Fiestas and Astras (late 80's early 90's). I took mine into my local Lucas service centre and they matched it up in minutes and it only cost £50-60 (that was 6 years ago mind).
