Westfield owners in Southampton area.
Discussion
I'm looking at buying a westfield as a second car / track / hill climb car.
But my main concern is what would it be like for normal driving use rather than having to take my van! and how fun are they?S
So before I go and look at ones that are for sale i'd like to be taken for a ride in one to see if I enjoy it and if it would suit my needs. So if there is any one local to southampton that could take me for a spin in exchange for some beer tokens that would be appreciated.
Also do they have heaters?
Are they very "water proof" with the "roof" on?
Is there much wind noise?
Are they as fun as they look?
And any models to avoid for various resons?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi. Dont have a Westfield anymore but do compete in a Stylus in sprints & hillclimbs. So will be great to have a local competitor at events.
Westfield wise.
Heaters are fitted as a rule to windscreen only cars. Needed for demisting & may well have them for the cab.
Comfort wise they can be anywhere. I had a Tillett seat in mine. No cushioning, but because it supported all my body it was very comfortable. The suspension is vary adjustable & the springs can be easily changed.
Watertight. Best not have fabric seats or floor coverings. Water can pour in. One reason I sold mine was getting wet even when it didnt rain. Water flies up from the front wheels & the rear arches guide the water into the cabin.
These notes are from my experience over 10 years ago. So may not be relevant now.
If you wish to compete though, the creature comforts may not be required.
You are welcome to call in and see my Stylus but its undergoing repairs from an insidente at Castle Combe at the moment.
