Decent used compact camera options

My daughter is going to Morocco in the Summer with World Challenge. She'll be trekking and working for two weeks and wants to take a camera. She doesn't want to take her own camera in case it is stolen (they've been warned that theft is a problem).

I was wondering if we could pick up a reasonable used camera on ebay.

I had a look and it seems perfectly possible if we are patient but not sure if there are any to avoid.

My thought was to stay with a mainstream brand (Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic); 5-10 mp

Any suggestions for something capable of taking a decent picture that also has a video option. Would not want to spend more than £50.

I'm a fan of the Canon Ixus range, they tend to be a bit better built than the real cheap ones. However, my advice would be to just take her normal camera, if it gets stolen it will be covered by travel insurance. I'm off to Central America next week with £2k+ of camera gear and have travelled all over the world with it without any problems.

Would a canon ixus 60 be any good to you? I have one sat in the drawer gathering dust. It's a great little camera but we recently replaced it with a Panasonic as we wanted hd video. If you want it, I'm sure £20 or so would prise it away from our grasp.
