The Batley Brag’ – West Yorkshires High Performance Car Meet......2012 Date Is Announced!
The Batley Brag – West Yorkshires High Performance Car Meet is confirmed for Saturday 22nd September 2012 from 12pm until 4pm and will again be held at The World Famous Batley Variety Club Bradford Road, Batley, West Yorkshire, WF17 6JD.
Following the 2011 event we managed to collect £1,083 for the Childrens Charity SHINE, and we hope to do the same this year!
I can’t tell you how much the money has helped local children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalous. These kids face huge personal and physical challenges in their lives. The money we raised in 2011 has gone to the Leeds / Bradford arm of the charity to support a number of initiatives including three workshops that are currently going on helping local SHINE teenagers with a number of personal challenges they face as they move into adulthood. SHINE are tremendously appreciative of the support and money we managed to raise for them.

It looks like we have several kind and generous companies and individuals are prepared to sponsor the event for 2012; details to be announced on the Batley Brag web site soon.

Just a quick update.

Planning for the Brag is going nicely. The new web site is up and running (www.batleybrag.co.uk) and we are taking registrations for the event. The site also has details of our sponsors.
This is a 100% charitable event and once again we are collecting money for the local branch of Shine: the North & West Yorkshire ASBAH (Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalous) and all monies raised (every single last penny) will go to our charity. We received tremendous support at last year’s event from the PH community and we sincerely hope everyone will attend the 2012 event.
As we said earlier all the money we raise will go to the local ASBAH kids; they need every bit of help we can offer with the tremendous personal and physical challenges they face as they move into adulthood and beyond. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce that local ASBAH members will be joining us on the day. My Daughter has been to several local ASBAH meetings over the last few months to publicise the Brag and she tells me that the members are really looking forward to getting up close to the cars on the day.
One last thing: Trickie Dickie is printing some flyers / leaflets as his contribution to the event, so if you want a supply for hand out at any events you are attending then PM me and I will post them out to you as soon as they arrive from the printers.
