Vauxhall to follow Saab?
Discussion
I was just thinking about this current situation. Chevrolet is developing a stronger range of cars here in the UK so considering Vauxhall and Opel struggle to get out of the red, I wouldn't be surprised in a shift towards the 'home brand' with Chevrolet taking over the mantle in Europe.

I hope not.
I have been a Vauxhall fan-boy for years. Also, the current line up look good. (Astra GTC, Insignia, Corsa, Meriva)
I don't think it would be the same with a Chevrolet/other GM brand badge.
Vauxhall / Opel has the same issue Ford had some time ago. Making money in Europe. Sadly for the VX/Opel boys, that is where their entire market is and are, among others, now competing with themselves (Chevrolet)I have been a Vauxhall fan-boy for years. Using MG Rover as a discussion point (though different since GM oversees Vauxhall etc), MG Rover's main issue was that the management structure was still firmly stuck up their own backsides, even though they had great engineering ability.
Vauxhall / Opel need a sustainable business model but i'm not sure GM have the patience to make it happen. I think they want to concentrate on their core brands.

would anyone miss them if they were to go?
I might, I have always (mostly) preferred VX to Fords. JayTee94's household have owned a fair few aswell. danyeates said:
£24k for a Corsa?! See TG the other day? Who buys these things?
Very few people actually spend that on a Corsa. They have it on Finance/Co Car.I like VX, but I find that price a bit steep. Although, it is on par with cars in that sector now. (eg: Clio Cup Silverstone)
One factory (which IIRC has had issues before?) goes to a 4 day week and therefore its all going to go down the tubes ?
They build Astras there, which until recently Opel were building in Belgium, that work moved to Poland (I think).
You'll probably find they are shifting work elsewhere..
