EVO 6 Extreme or Tommi

Whats an Extreme, some UK special edition?
It is a special edition model, I think it was a limited run of 50 or so cars. Tuned by Ralliart UK with an uprated turbo, ECU and a few other bits and bobs. No doubt a fantastic car, but for whatever reason, not spoken of in the same regard as the TM. In my experience over the last 3 years of Evo ownership , no Evo will hold its money , in terms of investment they are not good but same can be said for most performance cars nowadays
Buy the car you like the most , dont buy something hoping someone else will like it when you come to sell it

Yep it was £42k and had 350hp
Here is a good video on them

Really? The rally red tommy makinen has held at over £10k for many years now. And a low mileage evo9 fq360 is still worth what it was 3 years ago.Your evo may have lost money but a few of them hold value very well.
Really?? TME were £11-£15k+ three years ago now £8k will buy a decent one , they have been sold for less than £6k
Nice £8k TME - http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=392...
£5800 TME - http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=385...
Sure they are more sought after than the GSR's especially the red ones but they have still been crippled by the drop in values of performance cars and the fact they are over 10 years old now
I paid £8k for my 6 three years ago, I had a £10k budget and decent TME's were out of my range, I reckon I'd get £7500 if I sold it now but only because I have spent a shed load on it getting it to A1 condition, but I couldn't care less what mine is worth, but buying one of these cars as an investment is ludicrous, buy one because you want one

Like i said, the sought after iconic Rally red ones have lost hardly anything for years, and the fq360 still worth what it was 3 years ago.Nice £8k TME - http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=392...

Yes the white ones can be cheaper but the specs seem to be all over the place on those with different bumpers and seats etc.
But by keeping it in good nick you have only lost £500 in depreciation over 6 years, i think you have given a great example of how they hold their value very well.
I was only commenting on your statement "no evo will hold its money" which is simply not true.

Probably because the rest of the world has never heard of them
Local market tuner editions never reach the same status as factory specials. Compare Impreza 22B vs P1 for similar example.GravelBen said:

Losing hardly anything is not "holding its money" now is it??Yes the white ones can be cheaper but the specs seem to be all over the place on those with different bumpers and seats etc.

A car that would have sold for £15k 3 years ago might still sell for £12k , so 1k per year hardly anything ??
The fact is the early evo's lose a lot less since they have depreciated further so they lose even less per year and wont lose anything like £1k per year
But they will all lose , I've seen plenty of cheap Evo9 FQ's as well they do seem desirable and yes lose money less than other models but all Evo's will lose money!!
Mine might be worth close to what I paid for it but I have spent £8-£10k on it so in truth its lost that money as soon as its sold
There are plenty of cars that you can buy and not lose anything on but Evo's arent one of them , thats not what cars like this are about
I think we will have to agree to disagree. Losing 80quid a year over 6 years and however many miles is pretty much depreciation free in my book especially compared to normal cars, and putting 500quid on the asking price would mean its held its money if you want to be totally pedantic about it. The red ones and fq360s have lost hardly anything either.
You may have lost 80quid a year so far but could easily gain it back in the next 6 years or even double your money in the next 10 or 15 years, this is not the sign of a car hit hard by depreciation.
But like you say, they are there for enjoying, just nice its not costing much other than maintenance to do so.

Well I bought the Extreme, it's what I want. Could have bought good eight or nine but this cat really floats my boat. Recently had about £10k spent on it and reputed to be only 15 examples left in the uk. It's got a 460bhp forged motor that's just been built along with new shocks new poly bushes fsh wax oil and just about everything else. What else can you buy with this spec power and rarity for this money, any make?
I'm happy ;-)
