The joys of driving within the speed limit

Following my transgression of the speed limit in November last year and subsequent fine and six points at the beginning of this month I now find myself driving between 65 and 70 mph religously. I never did/do exceed the speed limit in 30/40/50 zones but I always thought the 70 limit was fair game and open to interpretation. It was all about driving within the capabilities of the car, my own capabilities, and with due consideration for other road users. Now however, keeping to 65-70 mph everyone in everything flies past me. The upside of this is how many of them slow up to take a good look at the car 
I have discovered a new joy in driving 'slowly' and allowing other road users to admire a TVR....... Funny old world 
(the open country lanes are another matter )

I have 3 points, thanks to a change in the motorway speed limit from 70 to 50 at the West End of the M62 on the approach to traffic lights some distance ahead. I was braking from 70 to stop at the lights, and was done at 67 MPH.
Since then I have kept religiously to motorway speed limits, and have to say that 70 mph (as indicated by my sat nav) is the most dangerous speed to travel on a Monday Morning at about 5.45 am on the M6 going south.
What you find is that you are faster than the middle lane moron's (who are religiously sticking to what they think is 70 mph, but fail to realise that the calibration on most speedo's is a bit out) and slower than those that are travelling at 80 mph in the fast lane. So to keep at 70 mph, you must constantly be in and out of the fast lane, constantly having to adjust your speed down to 65 mph, and back up to 70 mph, whilst being careful not to hold up or force people in the fast lane to brake.
Not a JOY at all.
However on a Friday afternoon going north. Just set the cruise to 55 and stay in the inside lane, and get their without any stress.

Haha, I do that. Never thought people realised though, getting a blip is always nice 
I quite enjoy driving slowly if I'm ahead of schedule for an appointment. If I know I have to be somewhere no earlier than, say, 10am and I realise I've got plenty of time to spare I do get a peverse sort of satisfaction from cruising along slowly in the lorry lane of the motorway, conscious of the fact I'm saving valuable fuel for more deserving roads or occasions. That's in the daily skip, of course.
But in the TVR? Nah.
