Quick question..

Does anyone know the prices Shell and BP are charging for their 'premium' fuels at the moment? I don't drive past one but with the new car was going to see what the Shell V-Power card is all about.

Anyone got any of the fuel loyalty cards? Worth it?

The bp stuff doesnt seem anywhere near as good as the shell. That said, my car seems to prefer tesco high octane over both!

I thought it was more like 6 or 7p premium for shell. Which is what, 5%?

If you get a couple more MPG out of it, it is cost effective...

Hmmm... need to make a decision. Have both garages within decent distance so no problem with getting the fuel. Need to decide on V-Power and their clubcard or Nectar card for our local Morrison/BP Garage...

Based on a sample size of one, I'll take that under advisement..................

Same here surprisingly - Tesco Momentum 99 first, Shell V-Power next and BP a poor third and I usually avoid supermarkets like the plague!

If you have a high performance car and want to run it on v power then fair enough,if you dont then i wouldn't bother.V power near me is around £1.39 a litre, about 8p more than 95 ron.

As for the points card,I got a shell card about this time last year and thought i would just stick to shell to try and get something back.I spend around £90 a month on v power and around £100 a month on regular diesel for my work van and at the end of the year all i got back was a £10 fuel voucher.

Not worth going out of your way for if you ask me.

Make that two. My impreza gives a worse mpg on BP Ultimate than V Power (generally 20-30 miles per tank, I st you not!) and worse than that, it does run less smoothly.

Mazda 6 MPS or Jag XKR, but especially the Mazda likes Tesco 99.

Weird innit? Mine definitely seems to like the tesco stuff most.

I forgot to add, tesco momentum goes down pretty much as well as v power in the impreza.

Our local Sainsburys sells their Super unleaded for 135.9 vs 132.9 for the regular stuff.
Saw the BP tanker fill it up smile

I've used Tesco Momentum before and it seemed ok so maybe I should stick to it rather than go for a gimmicky card at a higher petrol price.
