Body off - What new bits???

So... I'm going to be getting the body off the old girl soon, replace the outriggers and generally tidy up the chassis. In taking the body off, there are going to be a number of nuts and bolts which are going to be coming off... Potentially with the grinder!!!

Does anyone have a list of the various bolts and sizing, so that I can get a load of stuff ordered in before hand. Also, which of these can be replaced with stainless, etc??

Finally, while the body is off, what other stuff should I be looking at potentially replacing? Diff mount, hoses, etc???

The best thing to do is take the bolts off ,go to your nearest screw man and dump them on the counter, I did my outriggers in stainless steel and the bolts came to £80, dont forget the washers ,including the packing washers under the seat runners .

Well, I spoke to my guy yesterday and the body is coming off at the end of the month.

He is going to fabricate the replacement outriggers with stainless, sort out any other chassis work we find and then before putting the body back on, he'll give me a few days to rub down the chassis & waxoyl everything!

I'm hoping that by the end of April, we'll be good to go again.

I would steer clear of waxoyl it is horrible stuff. I can show you some pictures of why not to use it if you want, 2 TVR later and Hundreds of hours of my life wasted removing the stuff, I would never buy a car that has had the stuff sprayed on it again.

Painting or similar process every time .

It's more for use inside the chassis IMO

Nah... I'm happy to use it.

My cerb isn't a garage queen, it is there to be driven! I'm not fussy about having the chassis polished up, I just don't want it to rot away.

Painted, it's still open to getting chipped and the corrosion to start all over again. Waxoyl, tends not to chip.
