Anyone on here running an S-Max with the 2.0t Ecoboost engine and Powershift gearbox? I’m going to look at one this weekend (240bhp version) and I’d be interested to hear what mpg owners are getting. The official MPG is listed as 34mpg which I think is a tad optimistic.

Well I guess I'm going to find out. I've just placed a deposit on a 1 year old panther black S-Max Titanium X with the 240bhp 2.0t Ecoboost engine and dual clutch Powershift gearbox. Its first job will be as a family car for my wife and daughter but I'm hoping with 240bhp it'll put a smile on my face when it's my turn to drive. Now I just need to check if there's a re-map available smile

My 140bhp Powershift diesel is getting 20% under the official numbers and that's me driving for efficiency. Only 3,000 on the clock so it may loosen up...

Got a Galaxy with the 2.0 ecoboost and powershift - 204bhp
In the Galaxy I get 28-29 during stop start driving however on a run sitting about 75-80 get 32-34 so not too bad
I had a lot of people thought I was mad buying a petrol over the diesel Galaxy, bought mine at 7 months old for £16.5k with 3k miles on the clock - it was £7k cheaper than the diesel with powershift - buy a lot of diesel for £7k
Cracking engine and gearbox - really smooth

Thanks for that Jackman. My S-Max was £5K cheaper than the identically spec’d 2.2 diesel that was for sale at the same place (£17K v £22K), plus my wife doesn’t do too many miles per year so it was a bit of a no brainer for me. I pick it up tomorrow afternoon, and with a 3 hour return journey on motorways and B-roads to look forward to I should be able to get a good feel for the gearbox. I test drove a DSG equipped Passat a couple of years ago so I have some idea what to expect.
