I'm sure many of us have used this service to make sure our vehicles have been successfully added to the register once the premium has been paid.

A great number may also have used it to check if a vehicle they don't own is insured , i.e a car you're thinking of buying , a strange car appearing in the street etc but how many of the moral majority on here have paid the £4 fee when the vehicle in question is not your own ?

I suspect MID are aware of the esoteric purposes their site is put to.

I think they just want raise the profile of the ANPR systems and the importance of their contribution to responsible motoring.

I think they are succeeding gradually.

I regularly check the seven cars I have on the road. Better safe than stopped!
