Stitching around the corner of the soft top window
Discussion
Hi Guys,
anyone know people that can stitch 20 odd stitches on my convertible roof rear window as the thread has detached itself which is not great! looking for someone in Berkshire?
rough ideas of cost? dont want my trousers pulled down?
is there a special thread used? and i guess it needs to be done via a professional machine?

Try http://www.ajtrimming.co.uk/80100/contact.php based in Bourne End - I haven't used them, but have heard they are good. Worth a call...
Mine was sorted at Racing Green, as I leant on the hood when washing it a few years back. Didn't cost loads to sort.
Cheers

If you're losing bits everywhere it could all be rotten and need re-stitching completely; if this is the case you might as well replace the plastic as well if it is scratched and discoloured.
The whole rear screen blew out on mine when I was driving with the targa off, due to the perished stitching and me being bloody stupid leaving the back up on the motorway!

I had the same problem here up in Cheshire. Only cost about £60,-
The guy was an exRR man so when I turned up at his workshop and saw various cars including a Corniche receiving a brand new hand made roof so I had no concerns for his quality.
He stitched it up using the same holes from the previous thread so totally invisible.
Good luck.

Alternatively Ropps just take it off and see if you can get your eye in with a needle and thread

Ah cool, so the acquisitions have started for you as well now. Never thought i'd be excited about seatbelts turning up i must say ! It does sound great with that done i must say. For some reason mine is a noisy little bugger already so doesn't need that doing. Interesting that James thought mine was faster as well ? I'm sure we'll see in time !
Re the nice new leather smell did you read the post about the patch of newly cut leather under the seats ?
