V8S NON-STARTING

Hi Guys

Well she's let me down, (the car not girlfriend) put away last November on trickle charge and in clean dry garage,
Went to wake her up Monday, lights, gauges, fuel pump, indicators, horn all working as normal. First thoughts was the battery fully charged, onto the charger 1/2 hr full charge showing.

So turn on ignision fuel pump works gauges jump into life. turn key further 'nothing' 10 sec'd ticking from under dash, tiun key off 10 sec'd ticking from under bonnet area.

Now i'am no mechanic, and my local garage as let me down every day, so wondering if i could check the basics this coming weelend.

I assume that with every other thing working its the ignision system thats the problem? i know there a fuse (the bible) could is have blown or is it more serious.

Any ideas welcome

No doubt you'll receive much more informed responses than this but it sounds like it might be the starter motor. I had a similar fault on my old 350i. Before I replaced the starter I managed to coax it work by thumping it a couple of times with end of a thin length of wood (short broom handle would do it). Smack the starter motor a couple of times and try to turn it over again. This sometimes helps free up the mechanism temporarily.

Get someone to turn the key to the start position while you watch the headlights (turned on) if they go dim the battery has had it or needs charging up. If they don't change much its probably a starter problem.

Could also be a bad earth,starter cable or battery connection.

Faulty immobiliser/alarm?

Well it was'nt her faulty, the driver forgot to turn off the immobiliser do-do. She outside burbling away as i type, seam the NUT behind the wheel needs attension
