Those who have fitted brake ducts into the vent holes in the front clip ,where did you get them from?

And did you mastic them into place or use glass fibre?

Thanks Dom

Hi Dom

I haven't gone down this route but the mastic method is easily reversible with a hot air gun as as long as you can't see mastic I would say it is by far the easiest.

Use the factory stuff. Far better than silicon.

thanks Paul,

I presume they use something like tiger seal which Ive got a tube of..

I just need the pieces that fit against the holes.

Not sure you'll get a exact fit, I couldn't find one, in the end got a pair from Merlin and mounted them on brackets from the radiator frame, a bit like Nobles have them.

Are those pics of a Noble ?

Where do those ducts go? They seem to disappear into the centre of the car!

On a Noble they feed the airbox for the heater / air con. This one has four ducts so I'd imagine it has two going into the centre tunnel in order to pressurise it and stop hot air / fumes from the engine bay working their way into the cabin ( a well known issue for the Nobility).

No point in having cool brakes if you are high/asleep on engine fumes.

Do you mean something like this?
Plastic scoops attached to front chassis section. Air to cockpit+brakes.

We initially used these:

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/ducts-duc...

with some of these:

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=vi...

we initially tried to mastic the plastic ducts to the clam but they kept breaking away, so we ended up fibreglassing them to the clam. The only issue with this is that each time you want to remove the clam the hoses need to be undone, so you will need to jubilee clip them into place. We manufactured backing plates to cover the gap behind the bell and seal surface of the disc to the upright, and the air is pumped into the centre of the disc and out through the vanes for optimum cooling efficiency. We were looking at getting the plates made to suit the Ultima if anyone was interested.

Do they?

Hey Stig.... Where you at? If they do then shouldn't they be on the Parts update on this site?

BTW, the splitter in that section looks cool, but has anyone come up with a better hing system to be able to open the front clip without grounding with it on?
Sorry to hijack!

cheers

No...They have been available almost from day one but the Factory don't like them so they are not promoted. They will supply if you ask for them.
I suspect all manner of muck gets thrown out of them and all down the side of the car.

Just realised I'm thinking of the ducts that go in the front of the side pods.
For the front clip I used domestic guttering 'stop End Outlet' bonded in place with PU sealant and they've been there 8 years. Used to bring fresh air into the cockpit.

I just purchased front brake ducts from Summit Racing, and bonded them to the front clip. Then welded up some 3" aluminum ducting so that it is pointing onto the brake rotor when the front clip is closed. Connect with some flex hose, and its done
