Looking for some advice, would like to fit an in-car camera for track days and general use, looking for one that gives telemetry info (speed, G's, Map,lap timer etc) any one know of a decent one that does not cost a small fortune

Will be interested to know this as well, would like one for general use as I've had some very close misses recently and would like a bit more proof of how the other drivers are acting. Otherwise it will just get blamed on me for being a young driver!

define small fortune

They seem to start at around £200 for the GPS ones e.g. Roadhawk

Check Roadhawk systems. They come up on ebay quite a lot and you can save a fair few quid.
GPS and speed tracking etc.

You would be best looking at something like a RoadHawk or a Blackvue, both record info including GPS position on some models.

Been looking at the road hawk one, seems the most affordable then. Seen some really nice bits of kit where you have all the tracks and they give you full lap times, chrono etc. silly money though (1000 plus).

You can do much better than road hawk price and quality wise

DOD GS300 or GS600

Blackvue DR400HD

All 1080p and cheaper than road hawk. I have a gs300.

aLapRecorder for Android phones is pretty good, especially in conjunction with additional GPS & OBDII devices. Logs pretty much everything you could want along with video recording etc.

£27 on ebay and at that price one for the front and one for the back. smile

But you need to get a decent sized SD card on top of that and probably power feed cord.

I would also agree with the above. The cheaper ones from china etc aren't too bad at all for the price. You cant read number plates unless you are stopped behind at traffic lights but other than that I rate the one I got for just £22. For general use they are great.
Obviously if you want gps that's another story but it shouldn't really be needed for general use.
