I'm looking for suggestions on what to replace my WRX wagon with, in next couple of months. It's an 02, and has been perfect since buying it two years ago. Could buy another one, but then can't think of a reason to swap the one I have!

I'm looking for a 'Q' car which has to be inconspicuous, 4WD, good to drive and reliable, (eg be able to sit on the street for a lot of the time, and still work when needed).

To be used in bad weather (WRX is on winter rubber all year round), and for kids' football, lugging bikes, skis etc. But, have way more performance than any of those activties need...

Have always been tempted by an Integrale, but think that doesn't offer 'Q', or reliability, and isn't suited to sitting on street (rusting...), so other suggestions welcome! Ideally up to c£10k. Would prefer not an Audi, good though they may be.

looking at this, which is a bit pricey, (and my next mod would have to be a three seat rear bench from a stadard car). Does anyone know much about these? A silver wrap and it should look crap enough to be perfect...

What about a saloon Evo, with spoilers removed - is that common, does it work?

Thanks in advance....

I really like the Evo-Wagon, but I'd still go for a Stagea. wink

Forgot about the Stagea, do I have to hand in my PH card?

Also v70r - but they're hard to find and probably not exactly the best car to drive, but plenty quick!

Last time I was in Japan and thanks to the Japanese version of "section 59" one was beig used a Police dog unit. hehe

The only thing I don't like about the car is they only come with disabled gear boxes. I'd convert one to manual before turning my attention to the RB26 that sits under the bonnet.

Decent ones start at £2,500 so by the time you've converted one and got 500+bhp out of it you've still only spent half the price of the Evo-Wagon. wink

So how does a Stagea (like the one in ad above), really compare to a Skyline, or an Impreza/Evo?

No reason other than I fancy trying something different.

I asked because I think to retain all that you have with the WRX (reliability, great drive, etc) but gain "inconspicuous" you need to go for a Legacy GT. The Stagea looks conspicuous IMO. The Lancia more so.

lovely to drive, but they do look like a hearse. it's hard to get away from just quite how bad they look. If you can get past that though, an awesome, and cheap car.

the galant vr4 estate is much better looking, though not as fun
