Taking the wheel off?
Discussion
the alloy has seized. Get a big lump hammer / sledge hammer and a thick piece of wood. Get someone to hold the piece of wood against the inside edge of the wheel and hit it with the hammer!
I have never had to do this with the Sagaris before but have seen it many times at tyre fitting places, it happened with our BMW a couple of times.
Make sure the car is propped up correctly and of course taking this advice is 100% at your own risk and I take no responsibility for your actions!

Changing this battery is a PITA
I was thinking about your garage and battery problem when looking at our race car the other day.Changing this battery is a PITA
All you have to do is get a spare battery - or one that can hold its charge for say five minutes, and attach a anderson connector. If your battery is flat and you want to start it just take the battery out with the anderson connector on and start the car.
All race teams have these so they can start their car quickly if there is a problem with the battery etc

Is it very difficult to remove the battery? Is it held in by some kind of fixing at the bottom which is difficult to get at? Do the cables come off the terminal posts easily?
It's wasn't difficult it was more awkward as I had very little space to work.I finally got the wheel off, then I had to unbolt the wheel arch flap. 2 x 8mm bolts and cutting of a cable tie.
There was one bracket holding the battery in place. It was rusty and a bit awkward to get to.
Unclip the terminals which was pretty easy and then slide the battery out. That was quite awkward too as there is very little space.
Slide new battery in and re-attach cables. I have an Anderson connector so had 4 x red cables. That was also a bit awkward to attach as the cables are quite chunky.
Then re-attach the positive cables. The alarm went off that this point and made me jump about 3ft in the air..
I decided to reattach the wheel arch and wheel before starting as I didn't want to start the car with the jack supporting the car.
It was a bit un-nerving jacking the car as you hear squeaks and taps as you go higher.
Then started the car and all was fine once again.
I did buy a battery brain too but there was so little space I couldn't fit it anywhere. I'll get in done during the service.
I'm glad I done it, it's a learning curve. I'd never even taken a wheel off a car before let alone change a battery on a TVR.
The Graham Varley manual come in very useful for a novice like me.
