Z4M - How much to advertise for?
Discussion
At the prices these are currently selling for you'll probably be looking to advertise at about a grand less than that. From the limited information, the only thing I can see that would put anyone off would be needing a major inspection II at almost £1k, so soon after buying it.
Has it got a FULL service history (i.e. 1200 mile running in service, services done at correct time/mileage, brake fluid changes, tyre foam change)?
When you say 'top spec' - do you mean it has EVERYTHING? If not then don't claim it is, call it "high spec" or "well spec'd".
If you want more/harsher critiquing, then pop over to the Z4-Forum and ask in the General section (don't simply post a for sale ad yet as you'll get the piss taken out of you for joining just to post an advert). You may not like the banter a 'what price' post will garner, but we're usually trying to be constructive with out criticism to help you set a realistic price.
Is you car this colour?

If so, I think that calling it by it's correct colour will reassure potential buyers that you've cared for the car - I believe the 'titanium' is called Titanium Silver which is a fairly common colour on a Z4M.

Depends how fast you want to sell it.
Generally speaking if it needs and inspection II then I think the price is slightly high. I'm going to look at a coupe for slightly more then that and it has the inspection II complete although from what I have seen expensive ones can be lemons and cheaper ones can be better value.
I know a mint blue roadster with high spec sold for £13700ish recently(see z4 forum).
Good luck with the sale.

Just to give you an idea, I have just traded in my Z4MR which was on an 08 plate, sat nav, 36,000 miles on the clock for £13,200. I did phone around a few Dealers to see if they would give any better trade offers. The most they would go to was £13,000.
If I was selling privately, I would want at least £1,000 more this which would have taken some time to get in the current climate.
Hope this helps

As someone has already suggested head across to the Z4 forum but introduce yourself before you imeadiately start asking for advice.
I havent been looking at the roadster market but i think around 13k if it really is in good condition is fair but still misrable for the amount of car that buys the new owner......
BTW have you seen the light are you buying a Z4MC?

do not go to the z4 forums. Fruitless exercise.
you can see in the ads how much to ask for. Just price accordingly.
no need to ask. They only speculate and will prolly frustrate you. If that's what you want...
BTW, good decision to get rid of it. The Z4m is by far the worst car I have had and I'm being kind.

i'm sure most owners comment favourably. They need to.... lol, otherwise who would buy them....;)
but what technically is great on paper doesn't always transalate well in practise. The z3m was a gem and technically the z4m was better in every way.
In reality the engine was mighty but the steering, gear shift and brake feel was poorer. It is more competent on track but on daily driving, it was harsher, bumpier, less resolved. It was simply a case of the sum of all parts wasn't additive.
On the other hand the 1m, m3 isn't like that at all. It's as if, they pruposely engineered a more physical car just so it won't be a direct comparison with the m3.. The 1m at the end of the m3's model life was given the real unleash. That is the car to buy.
It all explains why the z4m is so cheap... If you only crave straight line go.. that is the car for you. This is bound to get enthusiastic responses from Z4m lovers.. but so what, I (and I can only speak for myself), having owned 1 hated it.....

... lots of stuff... mostly irrelevant...
The M3 is a saloon car, of course it would have different characteristics... So is the 1M... Which one of the 3 mentioned by you is a real drivers' car of old school, where you actually have to work it to get the best out if it? The Z3MC and the Z4MC should not be even on the same page... Yes, I have had both...
Perhaps, I should compare the Z4MC to my E61 M5? Yes, the Z4MC was really s
t, it was harsher, noisier, did not have SMG, M-seats, EDC, tow bar and 5 seats...khooni said:

But, hey, that's why there is a market. like it, buy it. dun like it, don't buy it.
or like me, hate it so dump it.

I believe it is top spec with all the extras, but may be wrong! Have you a list of all the options?
It's always serviced by main dealers - sometimes slightly longer than the suggested intervals though.
Cheers

Probably not a complete list, but has it got:- Auto-dipping/dimming mirrors (to stop dazzle)
- Electrically folding mirrors (for when you park the car)
- Professional nab
- Logic 7/Carver/DSP hi-fi
- Extended storage (cup-holders, footwell nets, boot nets)
- Heated seats
- Extended leather (i.e. door cards, transmission tunnel, roll hoops, sun-visors in same colour as seats)
- TV
- Cruise control
- Rear PDC
- Voice control
- Sun protection glass (not much use on a roadster though)
- Graduated windscreen tint
- Audio-in connection
- Wind deflector
- Bluetooth
- CD changer
- Tracker

You know what Khooni? If you are going to inhabit multiple Forums then you need to make sure your views are consistent across them all, otherwise you run the risk of at best making yourself look a prat and at worst a hypocrite (and I am sure you are neither of those things).you can see in the ads how much to ask for. Just price accordingly.

It's strange you don't value the z4-forum as you were (are?) a member. Perhaps your view on the forum is based on the fact that when you tried to sell your Z4MC (on the Forum incidentally) you got a little peeved because it was pointed out your car didn't have a full BMWSH due to a missing oil service and because some members questioned the importance of an AUC warranty. I assume that was why you asked for the thread to be locked?
It's also a bit strange that you now seem so anti the Z4MC when you have variously in the past described it as "your pristine baby" (when you were trying to flog it), as "a sports car pure and simple" in October 2011 just before you advertised it (again no mention of any criticism), and when comparing it to your Boxster Spyder you were rather effusive in your love for it - "I really have not regretted the purchase both cars are like chalk and cheese. The spyder is sharp and communicative while the z4mC has a fantastic engine. z4mc is less sharp in every way but exudes great character. The car will bite at low thresholds if you are not careful and the combination of awesome engine plus short wheel based rear drive chassis and relatively quick chassis, means that you are always on your toes. I simply love it. The spyder is just so focused that if you are man-handling the car, the passenger will feel every bit of it. The car just takes everything in its stride and if you don't fight it will reward with super high limits and impart a feeling that the chassis can take another 50 hp. This is not something I can say of the z4m but that's part of the fun to me. On the same test route, the spyder will be faster simply because you can use all of the power while the z4m needs careful metering to extract the best out of it. I love itThese 2 cars are here to stay for me."
I'm not saying the car is faultless (it isn't) and some of your criticisms of it on this thread, and in the extracts of your posts from the z4-forum above are valid. As owners we would probably agree on some of them (the damping/traction control particularly). However, when you seem to have a huge 'volte face' in such a short space of time the value of your views is somewhat tarnished.
