They're depressingly wonderful shots, Steve.
Would you mind sharing a few details? Shutter speed, aperture, etc?
I went out at the weekend and basically made a right pigs ear of things by trying to be a smartarse; from apertures stopped down too much and insufficient ISO (too dark) to wide apertures with relatively slow shutter (massively overexposed), to slow exposures (motion blur). I think out of a hundred-odd pictures there were three that were not horrid.
I felt like just twisting the knob round to "full auto" and never moving it again.

Here's the exif for shot 1. I exposure bracketed 5 frames on each shot - then chose the best exposure (generally -1/3 stop to hold the highlights). In PP (as always) I altered the curves to give it more shadow/highlight.Would you mind sharing a few details? Shutter speed, aperture, etc?

..and pics 1 and 4 used a circular polarizer to darken the sky/pull out the clouds (and add 3d!)

Watch out for the ISO... I can make it high as I use Full Frame... if you're on crop fame, I'd keep it 400 or less due to noise.
At 1/50th sec you are quite likely to get camera shake, even the mirror moving might affect sharpness at that speed.
Lenses work at their best 'in the middle' (ie F8 - f10 )... so I *try* and use them there if DOF will allow)

For a small sensor such as m4/3rds the sweet spot is wider open up around f4 to f5.6.
