It can be matched but sadly is down to quanity. Glasurit offer a matching service which would be 100% match but you need alot of buying power of the products for them to do it takes up to a week. Any Glasurit user should be able to do this for you, if your ever near Coventry I could have a match done
Find a paint supplier with a spectrophotometer firstly, my local brown brothers , and BSB both have one.
Well only at BSB main branch in london.
I used this service to get the colour match on a old car that had been restored in the past to non factory colour and the very elderly owner could not remember the colour code it was painted in the past.
He was that elderly bless him and i really felt so bad ,due to the fact on the way to drop off his car to us for a makeover (he had been trying to get to us for years but ill health had stopped him in the past)he reversed his car into a friends wall that was going to guide him to our workshop.
not a car you want to bump really
sent the petrol flap off , and a few days later the colour and flap was ready for collection.
Was really not expecting it to be even a close match.
i was plesently surprised.
Had this service done by another paint supplier using same machine and i may aswell shut my eyes and took pot luck with choosing the colour tinters , so shows still needs person that understands paint operating it.

Best options would be Kelly's advice or find a motor factor with a paint mixer who can do eyematches.
I use Sayers in Northampton & whilst there is a charge for an eye match (£18) & a minimum quantity (0.5 litres) I've not had a bad one yet.
I used to use Hex Holdings In Leicester, their mixer - Squib - worked for them doing that since the early 70's & was very good indeed. Unfortunately Hex went bust at the end of 2011 but he now works for a motor factors in Castle Donington (who's name I can't remember). So for anyone in those areas be worth a look.

Whilst I've never had much luck with paint companies using their spectrophotometers, even the reps have struggled to match our paints, as Kelly & Paintman said, its all down to the individual operator as to how good a match they get. Go to a professional paint supplier, Halfords are great for a bit of paint on a sunday morning or some bulbs for your push-bike but give them something out of the ordinary and they're stuck!
I guess what i should of wrote was, i explained for colour match of daytona is that it must be very close and keep the petrol flapo as long as you wish as i want it right.
It took over a week and many phone calls saying they have it close but then used different light source on spray out cards and showed a slight error.
So they had a few goes at it till it was correct.
the petrol flap came back with the paint can taped to it , and i do mean the can sitting on top of the flap colour side up.
Polished out fine thou but still.
Brown brothers used same machine to colour match a BMW red after a few spray out cards showed completely different shade, it came back as an alfa colour and when i questioned it they said it will be fine.
Took them all of 5 minutes to come up with this.
I now have a litre of water base alfa red sitting on my shelf spare.
