2011 A6 and A8. Too similar?

I've always liked the D3 A8 so much so that i held off buying the equivilant era A6 a few years back, so that i could jump straight to an A8.

Now i have one and when i took it in for a gearbox oil change, they dealeship had the new A6 and A8 side by side, and despite both being gorgeous, and the diffeent interior, doesn't anyone else find the exteriors too similar?

The D3 A8 has a certain presense thet i think has been lost in the new A8, it just looks to much like the rest, with this new tri-angular design they currently emphasise.

Yes, I used to find it easy identifying Audis as I quite like them, however this 'family face' or whatever it is is becoming a bit extreme.

I must admit after being a huge fan of the A8 before this one, it's a huge disappointment looks wise.

It is a dissapointment looks wise, As is the rival 7 series. The S class is literally, different class.

Unless you include the Jag XJ, which wins everything

Go and look at the front of the 1996 Audi A3, A4, A6 and A8 and see if you can tell them apart. Audi have done this for decades!

I completely agree. I've had to be debate whether a few new Audis were A8s or A6s until getting closer and on the occasions I've seen they're A8s I really have thought they were a frankly dull waste of money.

have to agree, current A6 and A4 are dam near identical in size too

Sadly, I can quite easily!
There is an A6 near me and I only know what it is due to the badge on it.
