the big multi car wrecks are back at Daytona. Shedloads of them in the shoot out when there is not even a full cup field of cars.
Last years 2x2's are a thing of the past and its one big pack again. Next weekends 500 will be a wreck fest.

Remember that it is a non-points race that counts for nothing except prestige and prize money, so there is a little less concern about wrecks. I think that they'll calm down a bit for the 500, at least the first 400 miles or so of it. Although I can remember Larry McReynolds saying something like "Green white chequer? We haven't got enough cars left for a greeen white chequer"
at the end of a particularly destructive 500 mile Talladega race before tandem drafting took over.
Good to see pack racing back at the plate tracks. Wonder what will happen with the Nationwide cars, will they have the same changes to stop tandem drafting.
Spoiler contains the race result
Well done to Kyle Busch, he deserved the win. I know no-onle likes him, but those two saves he made on the banking to avoid wrecking the car were awesome, especially the first one. As soon as he started pushing Tony Stewart on the penultimate lap it was always going to come down to those two as none of the others got themselves organised fast enough.
