£139 to do a parade LAP!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me I'm not going mad but £139 to do a parade lap at the Le Mans Classic.

Am I missing something I know France is at least 10 times more expensive since the Euro arrived but £139, I just don't get it

Just to clarify, the Event organisers have sold/allocated all the parade lap spaces to clubs and mult-marque groups. In their last communication to us, the confirmed that there are no additional spaces available.

However, as part of the Le Mans Classic with PistonHeads packages ( see here), we still have a limited number of parade lap spaces available for PHers with eligible cars.

Seems quite cheap to me. The way I see it there are 2 ways to drive a couple of laps* of the full Le Mans circuit.

1) Spend £139 and do it at the classic.
2) Spend £200 million to buy, qualify , enter, get accepted and run a race car at Le Mans.

• That's all Nigel Mansell got for his £200 mil.

If I book a parade lap with PH (and I suppose it's the same for any club) is insurance included?
When I went in 2010 looked a bit dicy to me, won't take much for a bit of a pile up I reckon.

Just as a one off experience, i wouldn't have a problem paying this.

If they did it at the june 24hrs, i would jump at it... upto about £250

Is it literally one lap, or are you given a couple within a time frame.

£2000 for a pax lap at the main 24h, on the Friday or Saturday morning

Self drive at the classic looks much better value!

Seriously, what do people do for insurance? I assume the Club the takes out the block booking has to have the insurance cover with it otherwise they would be liable for injury etc as our booking is with them? My insurers don't want to know.

It is a lot of fun and no other chance to actually drive the full circuit for this sort of money. Having done it a few times though, we have decided to let others enjoy it this year while we go off for lunch and a nice drive out on the Saturday morning.

My insurance policy covers track days etc. There's a few companies that offer one off policies...give it a google search for track day insurance.

Well what can I say I,am doing TVRCC Friday Evening & Parade Laps Saturday morning and looking forward to both you only get the chance every 2 years to drive the most famous track in the world so s-d the money and plenty of time to save the money, plus I,am being greedy as never done it before, done about 21 hours on Xbox now nearly 24, see ya there.
