Why don't you look at some TVR breakers. I'm sure you'll find one there.

What your reason for wanting a cheap one.
As not sure your get one at that price, unless its a complete mess, and it will end up costing you 10K + to put right, plus a few years of time. a 400SE that has been an insurance write off will still be 1500+

My 450 was very nice but it wasn't my ideal colour. I was thinking of having it sprayed yellow when I found a buyer who came over from Luxembourg and bought it. Now I have a yellow wedge and am very pleased with it, but now I am wondering what it would be like to own a yellow or a red Tuscan.

Tony i'm intrigued..................

How does the performance of your 400 compare to the 450 you had?

I ask because my first wedge was a 400 and now i have a 450.

The 450 is quicker but not much i'd say, and i know they're both good 'uns...........

I know it's a little off topic but humour old boy jester

To be quite honest the 400 I have now is peak tuned but the 450 had been standing a while in the owners garage when I bought it and would have benefited from a tune up. Consequently, comparing the performance of the two cars I would say there wasn't that much in it. Having said that, unless its my imagination, the 450 exhaust note sounded that little bit better.

Fair enough but even at 3K I'm sure the black one, would have had a lot of problems, anything less than that your going to get a right shed, if you only have a max of 2k you much better off looking for a 280 or 350. unless you have at least 5K (inc money for repairs TLC) you going to get stuck with a lemon, that your not going to be able to use.

Thanks for that Tony. I haven't had mine tuned up yet since getting it and i know it was basically stood around for a while before i bought it. 5k with the last owner in 5 yrs and 500 miles in last year. Something else to do

Dont forget colour Yellow adds 10% BHP and factor in The Chain...Fleetwood Mac on the 8 track and its a winner all the way. Good Luck with the sale Tony, looks a great car for somebody, whose not afraid to be noticed

In my opinion the whole idea of owning a Wedge is to be loud and noticed. The yellow ads 10% to the loudness and the noticibility factor, making the Wedge stand out that little bit more. No, it is not a shy mans car, and on the stereo? Well, it has to be Elvis. Probably something like 'Way Down'.

I'm just going to put my ten pence worth in here, cheap neglected cars are a total pain in the a£se!

You'll find that everything will need doing, things will fail the whole time and you will end up hating the car!

Get the best you can buy for your money. If you only have 2500 to spend then you don't have a lot of choice, but the better car is the better car!

Eg-the refresh I'm about to do is going to cost a few grand!

I totally agree with you. You get what you pay for. A cheap one will seem like a money pit and you will hate the whole experience in time. Buy the best you can for your money. Borrow if you have to otherwise you'll be stuck with a lemon.
