Please can someone let me know what the water pump on the 2.9 is from and if possible what the part no is.

Being able to hear the squeek is driving me mad. Oh and changing it gives me a great excuse to put a nice new set of shiny hoses on !

Ford Sierra, Granada or Scorpio 2.9i (standard 12 valve not Cosworth). any reputable motor factor should be able to get you one, or possibly Ford main dealer but getting a bit old now, stock not usually replaced once gone.

Come with the gasket on that listing...

Win it and I'll throw the gasket cement in to...

Try a new belt first before you take the plunge!
You may as well fit a new belt anyway if you do end up having to change the pump.

Good, point well made. Any idea what the part number is for it, I've had a look down the list but it's not listed.

Cheers

On the subject of funny noises, while it may well be the water pump (or belt) could be the alternator bearings or I found my AFM's squeak or whistle at tick over but once you lift the revs they open a bit, there's more room for air to pass and all is well!

Not sure which S3 you have but I had an S3C and with the cats near the fan belt it got fried and started to squeek loudly after only about 12 mths so it was changed very regularly - this may or may not be an issue on the S3 which doesn't have the cats at the front of the engine but it might not have a long life either so as suggested above the fan belt is well worth trying as a first resort.
