Is to go on my Sigma 24-70, seems a no brainer entry to the world of filters at that price, anyone disagree?

I had a Kenko a few years ago when I had my 450d, it was used mostly on a Canon 17-85 and seemed fine for the money.

They are double the price new on Amazon (USA) which means retail here they will be 3 times in all probability.

I've just spoken to him and told him I'll pick it up tomorrow, not much to lose really, well 18 quid but that's 3 pints here so why not!
