just been listening to Radio 4 and they had a speaker from Mumsnet on, actually making a good point about energy bills. anyway this got me thinking. why don't they ever get Ph'ers on there for motoring related pieces. normally is the AA who sell services to motorist so hardly have our best interests to heart.

[generalisation mode]

Mumsnet = bunch of hysterical daily mail reading mothers.

PistonHeads = bunch of hysterical motorists.

anyway what would you talk about given the opportunity?

They are only really interested in being controversial.

I read in the Daily Wail on Saturday how 500,000 civil servants can claim for damaged tights and clothing at the tax-payers expense and after 25 years in said Civil Service, this doubtless came as big a surprise to me as it was to every other civil servant I know. rolleyes

We always seem to get represented by that loud idiot, Steve Berry.

I'd ask why an organisation as blatantly sexist as Mumsnet deserves so much media recognition.

I am sure civil servants can claim for clothing, I bet its down to how you interprate a rule for something else though that's for something legitimate. did they back it up with any figures?

its like the Clarkson strikes 'joke'. where they took it out of complete context then scream blue murder.

I know someone who works for a local council, who claimed for a new suit because he caught his old one on a door handle and it was torn.

Apparently the employer paid up without batting an eyelid. Didn't ask to see the old suit or enquire which door handle it was torn on. Just paid out ...
