Classic car trip to central France - route suggestions pleas

Hi,

I'm thinking about doing a relaxing road trip down to central France for 5-7 days this spring or summer (maybe Easter). I am after some suggestions for a rough route - I want to do no more than 150 miles per day, want some good scenery, nice places to stay (preferably with secure parking for my TR6), nice intersting towns or villages to explore. No motorways, just a relaxing tour really. Also, do you guys think I need to book hotels in advance, or am I likely to get a room (away from the tourist traps)on the basis of turning up somewhere late afternoon. All suggestions & advice welcome
