Guys. Girls. An the bits in between! How're we all doing?
Right, So here is the deal...
I'm 22, had my fair share of cars already (some good, some not...)
An i'm verging on purchasing my next bus, a 1995 SRi Cavalier (Ecotec).
When I was young, (well, younger :P) a chap used to drive one around the village for years
completely standard but I loved it an always dreamt of owning one.
Now the time has come to make the commitment, an I thought I would ask some of the more time served
drivers, what their views and opinions are?!
So comeone guys, What am I getting myself into here?

In its day the Chavalier was a good car, way better than the Sierra at the time. I had a 1994 vintage company wagon and it shifted fairly well. Would expect it to feel very out of date now chassis wise. Just checked the reg and its still going, it had 90k on it when it went back to the lease firm in 1997 so solid old lump
I would not say it was my dream car but, I have always loved them ha.
I used to have an old 2.0 8v an it was like driving a jelly bowl, but, With a little
money spent on suspension an some polybushes I'm pretty sure it will be a nice car.
An the one I have found has just touched 130,000, Is completely standard and dint free.
Get it, get the engine rebuilt, suspension, bushes, brakes, happy Adam in a coming on classic

Bizarrely I agree with this, back in approx 1986 I changed jobs and went from a 2.0iGL Chavalier to a 2.0GL Sierra Sapphire, the Chav was a much better car (to my surprise at the time).You dont really want the one with the Ecotec engine as theyve been known to muller the tensioners , mind theyve possibly been uprated by this time.
If i were you id go for the chavalier with the 2.0 litre xe unit , or more commonly known as the redtop.
My good mate had a 95 ecotec sri in kingfisher blue. Went well , arches were dodgy and his engine failed on the pulleys. I beleive they were manufactured down to a price so hence the multitude of plastic in them.
