Toyota Corolla KE30 Modifications

Hi Chaps,

I'm looking into customising a 1979 Toyota Corolla.

It's a 1.2L Automatic, so I'm looking to get a 1.6 or 1.8L engine, 5-speed gearbox, etc...

Does anyone have any ideas for a suitable donor car?

Toyota 4-AGE would be my choice, but i'm no engine know it all.

4AGE and 3SGE/3SGTE are both popular for those sort of swaps.

So for donor cars, I should be looking for Celica's and MR2's for the 3SGE?

The only car I can find a 4AGE engine is the Corolla AE86, but is a bit rare ...any others?

I'd like to use the engine and gearbox from the same car...so any RWD options?

Even Coronas (or whatever they're called in the UK market), pretty much any 2.0 Toyota from the 90s will be 3S-GE (or 3S-FE lameass SOHC version)

Mk1 MR2, Corolla FXGT, Levin/Treuno etc

Ah, that makes it a bit trickier. Maybe try and find a 3T (or 3T-GTE) from an 80s RWD Celica?
