I don’t quite know where to post this request but my problem is that I have a 1958 Jaguar XK150S OTS with a very full dash area as the car is used for rallying. I’d like to fit a radio for everyday motoring and as I am a Radio 4 junky, I need to have something with good sound quality for speech and good volume for open topped motoring.

My problem is lack of space to fit the required components. I notice lots of ads for motorcycle radios, which are quite tiny and I wonder if anyone has any experience of fitting one in an open car. Advice appreciated.

Hello, Its nice to welcome another XK150 driver to the forum.
Mine no longer has a radio fitted (it was leaking oil) but it used to be mounted underneath the dash in the middle, so behind the gear lever. I'll see if I can dig out a picture of where it used to be mounted.

Hi,

Thank you for the welcome. Unfortunately, my ‘150 dash area is not standard with an additional rally panel where the radio would normally fit. There’s not a lot of space hence my interest in a motorcycle unit.
