Probably a repost knowing me but..

Is it just me who finds the ordeal of buying fuel to really raise blood pressure for one reason or another.

I normally fill up at a local Tesco's and am forever having people trying to cut in front of me and people generally fanny arsing about to try and make the nozzle reach to the other side of the car! for instance I was was stuck behind this old bloke the other day who parked about 6ft away from the pump so I couldn't get passed and then proceeded to take about 20 minutes to pay grrr! Do people not grasp the etiquette at a petrol station.

Does this wind anybody else up?

If they bother you enough, set fire to them but make it's their petrol you use.

I love whizzing in, stretching the hose round the car, fuelling and effing off quickly.

My local BP petrol station is also a bl**dy Marks & Spencer so even though you fill up easy enough your then stuck behind a dozen people in the queue inside the shop with baskets of shopping who aren't even buying fuel.

The problem has got worse now that so many of these places are mini supermarkets as people fill up and then block the pump for the next 20 mins while shopping

I fill up in the evenings.

Nice and quiet, no queues for the pumps or tills.

I pay at the pump (where able) this helps marginally lower my stress levels! Nothing worse then going inside and standing in line whilst people in front faff.

I don't do too many miles with the car, but when I do refill it I am only in the petrol station for fuel. If I need anything else I'll move the car after I've paid for the fuel, then go back in to get the other stuff.

The work van is only filled at a station the company has an account with, so I just fill up, walk in, skip the queue and take my receipt and sign a little book, and walk out with the receipt. Piece of cake. Almost worth getting an account personally at that station for when I need to fill my car! Saves a lot of hassle.

There a people re who genuinely find going to the petrol station a stressful experience? I believe you have some underlying psychological issues if that is the case. Simply going to the petrol station should not cause anybody to be in distress or raise blood pressure levels at all.Your only there for a brief moment in time you fill up your car pay and go,There is no danger to yourself of your vehicle.I am not trying to be sarcastic seriously if your stress levels raise that much in such non stressful situations you have some underlying issues, high stress levels are not good for your health, i fully understand cues can be long but seriously thats life, don't let it stress you out, same with ppl who dont indicate or use fog lights in the day, while you in your car boiling your blood they don't care and the only thing your doing it increasing your chance of having a early heart attack.

Now my everyday car is a dirty diesel - I only fill up once every 2.5-3 weeks - so it's become much less annoying. But my local Shell station is full of nice, local, considerate people; so it's rarely that much of a chore.

If only Waitrose did petrol stations ...... redface

Plan, find a petrol station with a jetwash empty.

I used to get annoyed when some Tw@t would pull up to a petrol station after me, I'd finish fuelling long before him, then, when i'm in the petrol station paying he would drive his car into the Jetwash bay I was intending on using.
I then have to sit and wait while he firstly pays for his fuel, then watch him washing his effing car for five minutes.

I wash by hand now.

I thought Tescos pumps stretch so you can fill up at either side

i agree though, people that go in to pay for petrol and then do the weekly shop should be crucified, especially when theres such a big queue
