Just saw some guy park up his fairly new 911 as I was heading for a meeting

he put his disabled badge on the dash, then got out and jogged up the road to a cafe

looked at the badge and it's definitely his photograph

Disgusting abuse of the system

You can be disabled and own a new 911, also some disabilities aren't immediately apparent.

Maybe a diabetic or something. Hard to condemn without full facts. Many would regard a 911 as a disability in itself.... wink

The other thing is that even people like those Army guys on TG, with artificial limbs, have reasonable mobility so you may qualify as disabled but may not need a space.

It is the responsibility of the issuing authority to ensure the validity of any application, yet I don't see them mentioned in the OP...

I think its the jogging up the road bit creating the umbridge.

The mention of the 911 was just to counter the traditional 'what car was it'? presumably

In that case give his name (because that is clearly printed in big letters under the picture) to the council and let them check it out from there.

If he keeps placing it that way round he'll get parking tickets because the serial number and expiry date are not showing.

Let us not allow such reason and logic to get in the way of a good ol' internet debate! wink

There seems to be an insidious assumption that disabled people can't afford 911s.

I guess the outrage is that he probably didn't need to use a disabled space at that particular time, rather than the choice of car or the validity of him having a badge.

At least, I assume it's that. If it isn't then it's just a lot of high horsery.

How dare he have a nice car, doesn't he know he's disabled?

ETA: Wonder what the OP would think of this with a blue badge smile

He doesn't have to be disabled to qualify for a badge.

Can you tell us why it is disgusting?

I assume you're jealous of the 911?

Should disabled people not have money? Or should they all be dribbling wheelchair bound mutes?

I don't think the 911 is the issue. Even if he does have a disability, why the need for a blue badge of he is perfectly mobile?

It might be issued because he has a disabled child.

The issue here, surely, is that he used it when he didn't need to on this occassion.

If you are a recognised carer can you use the badge when you want or is there rules?

Supposed it could be any of the following:

Unseen illness/terminal and otherwise.
Limb missing but not something you can noticed as person adapted.
recognised carer on errand.
Arse.
