Hello all - I have finally got my first real car! I've been hankering over one of these for a year or so and finally took the plunge this weekend. The car is a 2007 model with 44k miles and two owners from new. It's Ruby Black Metallic (so looks red in the sun...so not been seen much so far!)with porn star red leather interior. Only other extras on it are the comfort pack (bluetooth, rear park sensors, cup holders, netting in boot) and iPod connectivity. I went and picked it up from Glasgow on Saturday and took the long drive back down to Southampton.

First impressions are that I have made very much the right decision! The combination of the looks, the sound and the way it goes have blown me away. The DTC switch in "halfway mode" allows just enough slip to get the tail out a little too smile I even got good fuel economy on the run back - with the computer reporting 31.7mpg - I will be doing proper sums in the future though rather than trusting the machine!

Only downside is that I find the front end really twitchy when driven on anything but the smoothest of motorway surfaces but especially when hustling down a back road. New tyres are happening soon as the tyres bought on there aren't exactly household names (even if there is a lot of tread!) - so I will get a full Geo set up done then to hopefully solve some of this.

Otherwise, I have attached two very poor iPhone pictures below - I will update with further pics when it's cleaner, a brighter day and I get the proper camera out. smile

I'll have to get myself out on a run sometime soon now!

That right there is my ideal car with the perfect colour combination (I love the red leather).

As I said elsewhere, It is a very nice motor and I'm not a BM man by any stretch!

Sorry, I thought I'd stop inflicting car talk on that thread when there were important things (i.e. starting lineups!) to consider!

Love it, really like the first gen Z4, colours and coupe combination is nice. You got the same mpg on the computer driving it back as I got bringing my 1.4 Skoda home 120 miles from the dealer the day I bought it!

These are amazing value at the moment, hopefully get into one next year.

does looks very nice, although I personally prefer the five spoke wheels (style 108's).

I agree, but they're very fragile and corosion problems are well documented, hence I went for the ones I have. Like you say though - great value for money at the moment. smile
