Going to see it tomorrow, HPI check passes, MOT online history all ok and done at a local main Ford dealer to the place it's being sold.
The car is being sold on behalf of the registered owner who has transferred it into her name from the deceased. It looks like a good deal but the seller is third party to the bereavement.

Shouldnt be a problem, I bought one of my cars from the executor of the will , IIRC the money from the sale is simply added to the estate then divvied up with the rest.
You just need to be sure that the person doing the selling has the right to do so and isnt just a relative thats grabbed the car in the free for all that sometimes follows a bereavement.

name on the V5 is the keeper, name on the recipt is the owner.
I've bought a car from the late owner's son - he just filled out the V5 as normal and I believe sent off a note with it to explain why the registered keeper hadn't signed it.
I received the V5 in my name no problem.
If it's very low mileage due to rarely being driven (perhaps due to health problems etc) then check it over well because I had to replace brake parts on said car prematurely due to corrosion

Apart from paperwork issues, the landlord of my local just bought a '99 1.1 Peugoet 206 from his aunty who's given up driving. It's got 6k on the clock! £500.00!! Although it was a family member.
He's had to change the tyres (perished) and exhaust (corroded), but other than that its mechanically/bodily perfect

Another owner is ok for me on a one owner car, clear from the history what happened. Also that's the reason they asked a friend to sell it, seeing it being taken away shortly after he died when it's still a big link to him, and nobody wants to deal with hundreds of "cash today" "best price I come today" buyers on a normal day let alone after their husband has died.Takes the shine off a new car when people are crying as you drive their Dads pride and joy away.

Seller was on the receipt and the wife of the deceased signed the V5.name on the V5 is the keeper, name on the recipt is the owner.
I bought my Mitsubishi from a neighbour, it was his father in law's car whom had died around 5 years previously.
I went in to the DVLA office where the lady just wrote deceased across the seller's bit and a new V5 arrived in a week or two. No problem at all but I know the son and daughter in law fairly well, might have been a different story from someone else
