Jesus! The passenger cell looks to be in a bad way. Unlikely that the driver got out of that unscathed. frown

Any news on how the driver is or the circumstances of the accident?

Roll bar looks intact, if slightly bent.

That looks familiar with the black Sag spoiler and 2 clips - hope that isn't a PH'er.

it's mindstar his car.

Some older person came out of a raod and drove just in front of him. He tried to avoid him but the guy still hit him sending him into the trees... a few scratches, stitches and a broken nose but he is ok.

Always frightened the crap out of me . The thought of having a full on side impact in any TVR. I can remember seeing a Cerb on the helicopter rescue job and the passenger ended up with broken everything.
Glad to hear the driver is ok.
Worst still the thought of a side impact on my bike.

This was a lovely looking car..very sad..

Looking at the pictures it looks like the side impact bars and the rollcage did there job.

Pleased to hear the injuries were not worse...

P.S. My car is also black and I always run with the lights on after a few near misses..these cars are so low and quick that people do not see them..I had someone pull out and overtake into my lane, right in front of me..lucky there was a wide verge and no curb!

Hey guys,
This was indeed mine and as Tom said, I walked away with minor injuries. The roll cage really proved itself here!
Still sad to see her like this frown

smile oh yes! Watch this space...

My insurance paid out and eventually the other party admitted liability. Though it still hurts looking at those pictures!

Thanks! This happened last September, so am fully recovered by now.
When I went to collect all my personal items, I tried to get back in the drivers seat and couldn't even get both my feet down by the pedal box!! That's how badly it was damaged there. But no injury at all to my legs/feet!?!?

Delighted to hear you're OK and have sorted out the insurance. The next one will no doubt feel even sweeter. Any thoughts on what you're going to buy yet?

It's astonishing how badly damaged cars can be and people still get out (relatively) unscathed. We saw a horrific accident at last years FunCup race at Spa. The driver was obviously wearing a helmet and harnesses etc, but the car was demolished. In fact, his helmet was demolished and ripped off his head too. He walked out despite a couple of fractures, and was racing again before the end of the season. In common with yours, his roll cage saved his life, without any doubt at all.

(P***es me off when you hear about the people making personal injury claims for whiplash at 10 mph.)

Very sad to see another one off the roads.
However, does make you realise though that these cars can really take some damage and still protect the occupant.

Out of interest what took the other party so long to admit liability? One of my pet hates is people who can't just hold their hands up and admit they screwed up....

Glad you were OK though!
