Ive seen a car on here which is at a significantly low price by a non registered member. I have enquired about it with the obvious question....the "keen" price. I got the following reply:

"Hi,
The car is still available for sale, it is in extremely good condition,100% HPI Clear, full service history.Currently I am on a business trip to Australia and will have to stay here for about 6 months (this is why I am selling the car for a low low price and I am looking for a fast sale to finance the Australian project )
I left the car in PistonHeads custody and they will handle the sale for me. The V5 log book is already signed on my behalf, the car will come with 2 keys, all service records and previous MOT's. PistonHeads will deliver the car directly to your home address and I will pay all delivery expenses.
I am waiting your reply if you are still interested in buying the car so I can provide you the contact details for the PH department that handles the sale, many thanks"

pistonheads brokering car deals is not a facility Im aware of.

Any advice

This was a big big scam that popped up about 12-18 months ago if I remember correctly. It might be worth letting PH towers know.

There is a big warning message on the PH adverts page at the moment stating the obvious, namely to be aware of sellers saying they are leaving the country or live abroad, and also that PH do not have any involvement in actually selling cars other than providing an advertising facility.

we know about this particular scam. Yes it is a scam.

We're running searches against the db to find these periodically if they get past our initial checks.
