Not sure if this should be here or roads or SPL.

I've noticed over the last 3 days that there is a camera in lane 2 or 3 that is going off when people don't appear to be going fast / faster than the cars around them. There has been no variable limit when this is happening.

More of a 'be aware' than anything else.

It must be getting hundreds as I'm only seeing the flash whilst travelling anti-clock and it gets one or two as I pass.

I've come to the conclusion that none of the cameras work, even when the variable speed limit is enforced tbh.

I'd heard that their threshold was now at 86mph and above with a 10% variable. TBH I usually stay below 85 leptons and have never had an M25 camera flash me. Touch wood.

Not true. One of the cameras on the gantry immediately after J16 anticlockwise definitely triggers for instance.

I do that daily, both ways, and have seen what you mean. The cameras themselves look like they're newly installed, and have the additional flash.

As they put the variable speed on the gantry before i exit, i generally go through it quick than the 40mph it wants me to go, so far nothing in the post. On the M1 near Hemel they installed similar cameras, but the local paper made everyone aware they were just testing and calibrating them, although i've heard nothing about the M25 ones.

I was under the following impressions;

They only work when a variable speed is in force.
They're set to 10% +1-3Mph depending on what force/day of the month, etc.

Go past that way twice daily and haven't noticed it, but one of my friends thinks he got caught last weekend. Its such a slow motorway though that you'd rarely be exceeding 70mph on that stretch during rush hour.
