Insurance again
Discussion
Hey guys, apologies to bring this one up again but search is down (surprise surprise !
)
Has anyone renewed insurance again recently?
Who's doing the most competitive deals at the mo?
My current renewal is £444.
20 years no claims
3000 mile limit
Garaged / alarmed etc
Agreed value of £17k.
Age 38
Professional (not like Bodie and Doyle though).

Blimey 3000 mile limit, only 250 miles a month! Mine would get very upset if I only drove her for 250 miles each month
Can't help much with the insurance stuff. Mines on my company group policy, costs about £650 a year no mileage restrictions. Only restriction is driver has to be over 30, which works well for me as the wife isn't over 30 so she doesnt get to drive it which is probably for the best

I started working at home so don't get to use her as much anymore.
Haven't really had any issues in the past 3 years except normal wear and tear bits so car seems ok with it.

Just renewed, 5k miles, not garaged, 40yo, 27k value, £545, £30 cheaper than last year. With Aviva via Henderson Taylor.
ETA I have about 10 years NCB but have 2 claims in the past few years, one non fault but one 50/50, both M/cycle accidents.

£444 seems a pretty good price but the mileage is low.
You could try:
Adrian Flux
Footman James
I went through Adrian Flux and got Breakdown cover too for £700 (I'm 30, NCB of 13yrs, limited to 4000 miles, Garaged overnight)
I didn't think that was too bad but £444 has me thinking now.
Mine was through MSM Insurance Broker - actual policy is with KGM insurance. You could try:

Same here, 4 billion years NCB but one 'fault claim' in last 5 years (electrical fire). £550 odd, 42yo, nice postcode Just renewed, 5k miles, not garaged, 40yo, 27k value, £545, £30 cheaper than last year. With Aviva via Henderson Taylor.

, garaged, 5k limit, includes TD insurance (never had that before) including some mods (induction + exhaust). £100 cheaper than my previous insurers (swiftcover). Happy with that. For what it is worth, when I was getting insurance quotes last year, some insurance companies, eg Direct Line, UPPED the premium if I was doing FEWER miles per annum. Their theory was that if I didn't drive the car very often I could be 'less experienced in handling a performance car' and therefore a higher risk.
In other words, I got a better quote for 5,000 pa than I did for 2,000 pa.

I paid £270 ish with Mannings, back in October though. 32 years old, 10yrs NCD, garaged.
Worth a call, they seem very professional, offered me either a classic car policy or a standard one. My NCD on my everyday car counted for Cerb also.
Yes, when i was running two cars, I had the Cerb insured for approx £250.Worth a call, they seem very professional, offered me either a classic car policy or a standard one. My NCD on my everyday car counted for Cerb also.
Seemed a good deal but I couldn't make the case to the wife for me having a Cerb and an M3 sat on the drive whilst not driving either of them that much !
