Shell petrol prices
Discussion
Over the last couple of weeks i`ve been noticing that some Shell stations are being "resonable" with there prices, buy that i mean a fair bit cheaper than all the other brands, has anyone noticed this ?
I bought diesel today at 140.9p...looking at most of the others they are up around the 145p mark.
Now i know we are all being ripped off for fuel anyway, compared to other countries around the world, but i wonder if we all went to Shell, and boycotted the others, we`d maybe get some kind of price war going ? or am i just beiing stupidly hopefull ???? one of you bright sparks will no doubt come up with a reason !!! it seems tho that diesel is ridiculously more expensive than petrol, why is this folks ?

Cheaper in Oldswinford too, £1.30 but the station opposite is £1.34 for petrol. Diesel is 4p a litre cheaper as well.
That's my local, too. V Power is several pence cheaper than other Shell stations around the area. It's nice to have a quality, higher octane fuel available that's only marginally more expensive than most 95ron equivalents.

The garages are not owned by Shell but by individuals, companies or franchises. They set the pump price, not 'Shell'.
So, yes, you are being ridiculously hopeful. Or, or, you could try a Facebook campaign....

Anyone else think the OP owns a Shell franchise?
I thought it was quite a sensible post, right up to the point where the word boycott was mentioned.
As for fuel prices in the UK being higher than other countries around the world, I suggest you pop over to Germany and fill up - I was over there last week, and fuel prices made me want to cry. The cheapest we found was 1.54 Euros a litre

Which is about £1.29 ....... so cheaper. You should have been laughing, not cryingI thought it was quite a sensible post, right up to the point where the word boycott was mentioned.

I'm wondering what the V-Power, or equivalent, might be in Calais on Sat, as I'm doing a booze cruise. Do I fill up there or here? I suppose I could sling £10 in here, which would get me back here if it's more expensive over there.

We have just switched our company fuel card over to Shell as their prices are very good round here too. We get an extra couple of pence off through the card too.
I thought they don't give discounts any more?My dads clio has been running on shell Diesel for all of its life (235,000 +) still on original injectors and turbo.
I'm sure that has something to do with it! They normaly go on those models.
So, a few different views, together with the "odd grumpy old man" answer, you know who you are ! but generally we all agree that Shell is a better deal than most, regardless of it being a franchise or owned by Shell, i know where i`ll be buying mine anyway, thanks for your input folks.
