Does anyone here know this car?

I've not long bought the wee beastie, and just wondered if anyone has history on it.

I've got plenty of receipts, but there's a couple of questions i need to ask.

Used to be mine a few years ago. Will help if I can, although I think its been sitting at a couple of garages for a while.

I sold it to Fernhurst who I understand punted it on to the Performance car company.

It got sold from Fernies, to a guy down south, and then last year he sold it to PCC.

I've been looking at it for a while, but couldn't get my head around if i wanted to retrin the car, as the Burgundy colour interior wasn't my cup of tea! and the wheels were too small!

Anyway, i've sourced some 18 inch wheels and have plans to retrim the interior so all is good. - it's a fun car it has to be said.

The reason for my question, was that i wanted to find out a bit more about the cars early history.

I've got the history so far back, but the first 1 or 2 owners are a bit of a mystery!!

Just wondered if anyone had any more detail really!

Don't know too much about the first couple of owners, I bought it from a chap that ran a valeting business in Burton-on-Trent. But as you have noted the interior didn't quite receive the same attention as the outside! A few of my friends referred to it as The Womb. I toyed with re-trimming it too, but decided against it when I picked up a few suspension bills!

I liked the 16s, the extra height in the tire wall gives it a bit more suppleness on potholed roads and I felt they were a little more forgiving if the rear end started to migrate forwards. As with so many things with the T-cars its personal preference and anecdotal evidence. 18s do look far better though.

I do remember that there was not a huge amount of history from before the chap I bought it from, decent but not too extensive. Sorry memory not good enough to be too specific.

Just FYI in the 2 and a bit years I had it, it only let me down once and it was my fault. A faulty lambda sensor meant I got stranded on the M4.

If you ever have a problem with the doors popping open when you put it in gear, the door buttons are stuck "in", apply plenty of lubricant and massage the button in a circular motion... as you were.

If there is anything in its more immediate past (ie my ownership!) that is of interest do let me know.

I was happy that the car was good because I an sure that the guys at Fernies wouldn't have taken it and put a 12 month warranty on it if there was something dramatically amiss!

These card are better off driven in my opinion!

Which is what I intend to do!

In the mean time if anyone is looking for a set of 16 inch spiders. I have a set !

Hi Allanb,

Being a 51 plated Tamora, I'd say it was a Factory or dealer demo car first. Look in the service history and see who did the PDI and phone them perhaps?
