A really good read, enjoyed the M5 vs Alpina D5 article by Sutcliffe. He seems to conclude that whilst the M5 is by far the more special on an open road, the D5 is more attune to todays driving conditions and a damn sight cheaper to buy and run (no surprise there). Better looking to these eyes too, but then Ive always had a soft spot for Alpinas!!

Perhaps the D5 is the answer for all those pining for a M550d.

Great stuff on the Peugeot 205 GTI by Andrew Frankel. Plus Steve Cropley (one of the wisest sages in motor writing, now LJK has departed) drives the Aston one 77 and does his 1000th column.

£3.10 for a weekly is getting steep however, thats an increase of 80p, (or about 35%) in 5 years....

Three pounds and ten pence!

Haven't bought it for some years and at that price won't be buying it ever again.

Pretty redundant these days really as I can get whatever information I require from the internet. I was never really a huge fan of the quality of writing in it anyway.
