T350's in the North East

Hi,
Firstly this is my first post on PH and have to say that this is a great place for all that is TVR. After many hours of reading this section I have certainly gained confidence that a T350 is right for me and given me a little knowledge what to ask should I be viewing one.
Anyway to my point. I'm just starting out looking for a T350. The car would be a weekend dry weather toy for me. My ideal criteria would be 2005 onwards, ideally less than 20 to 25k miles and be as immaculate as possible. Of the 13 or so advertised on PH one or two (one I've spoke to the dealer about sounds perfect) certainly fit the bill. Problem is I live just north of Newcastle and all the ones I like the look of are in and around the London area. I've yet to drive one or even be a passenger in one. I did look at a laser blue one at Hexham Horseless Carriages last year which I sat in (for ages) but didn't drive. It was older and up on the miles a bit so was never the car for me but with hindsight I wish I had drove it. They haven't had one in since.
So my question. Are all T350's for sale on PistonHeads or is there one lurking near Newcastle that I don't know about?

You can google it and there are several other sites that sell tvrs, I would join TVRcc its £45 ish a year and lots of good stuff on site as well as a mag.My advice is to give the boys at Track V road a call Craig or Rich or Ian and tell them your requirements.They are great at sourcing cars and maybe will have customer from your neck of the woods that you can have a ride in.I do bang on about Track V road but they give brilliant service and their cars are always spot on. Thanks Geoff. Yes I've read good things about Track V along with a few other specialists. I meant to ask in my post if TVRcc was worth joining too but forgot. That's good as you can't get enough info.Geoff
Its worth joining tvr as there are discounts to be had which usually pays for the joining fee, or find out when they are having a meeting locally to you and pop along and see them. If somebody is there in a T350 im sure they would be happy to show you round the cars and maybe take you out in one, I doubt they would let you drive it but it will give you an idea of what they are like.
I dont want to put you off but even latter engine cars can go pop as mine has so keep a slush fund just in case or buy from a garage for that extra piece of mind.

I would certainly get in touch with HHC with your requirements, I'm certain Tony would be able to sort you out. People do 'bang on' about other garages but for me if you use HHC or Jason at STR8SIX you wont go far wrong. In fact I'll go further and say they're the only people I would use.

Yes it was Tony I met last year when I looked at a laser blue one. I'll try phoning later.Anyone had any experience of Hilton & Moss? I like the look of the 2005 car they have up for sale at the moment.

I would not get too hung up about 2005 onwards cars as there will not be much difference between these and 54 plate cars. In addition a 2005 car may have been produced in 2004 and spent a long time at the dealer before being registered..the engine number on the inner wing info plate will give you much more info about when the car was actually built..see the thread below:http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

As has been said, speak to Tony at HHC who has an excellant reputation nationally for a very good reason, and yes also speak to Richard at Track V Road. Don't just look at the asking price as sometimes it pays to pay a little more and get the backup from a dealer who properly knows these cars.
You have set out with a very restricted list of requirements and given that there wasn't that many T350s made, and certainly not many after 2005, you may need to be a little more open with your list, or be prepared to travel for the right car.
In real terms, these are a bloomin' rare car and people are hanging onto the good ones which is why there are so few for sale. Keep looking though as it'll be worth it

There is now a longer time gap from when the last T350 was made than there was years in the production run. You're better buying on condition and features than age these days. I had a 2nd quarter 2005 T350C, even saw it being built at the factory but in the end it wasnt a good one. The 2003 T350C I have now is a far nicer car to drive.
Lots of interesting comments and I take on board everyones comments regarding buying on condition first and foremost.
I have asked a lot of questions to H&M regarding the 2005 car they have. It sounds like this car has been its only owners pride and joy and its condition reflects that so may well be worth a visit even though its a 500+ mile round trip.

H&M are very good, I bought my T350t from Ben (H&M sales chappie & PHer) in Oct 2008 and their level of service and aftersales was second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again, and in fact nearly did in Nov last year as I nearly swapped for a 355 they had in stock.
