Hi,

Recently sold my gfs shed (Nissan Primera) on ebay as cost to fix was more than it's worth so sold as "spares or repairs" clearly stating that it had no tax or MOT. Eventually sold it to a German guy who has paid by Paypal and reckons he's going to collect it on Wednesday. Thing is he's flying in to London then training it up so is obviously expecting to drive it away (which it can do as it's a runner), so the question is would there be any legal comeback on us if he does that? Given he knows it's untaxed and no MOT? We'll be getting him to sign a receipt that clearly states sold as seen.

Also what happens with the V5 as it will presumably be registered in Europe (or scrapped over there)?

Cheers,
Rob

If it is a private sale you don't need to bother with the sold as seen part, it doesn't mean anything. If it is a private sale he won't have any chance of a come back at all.

it just shows how low used car values are in the UK...running or non-running cars in the UK are dirt cheap compared to the rest of europe

Yeah that's what we thought. It is an SE+ though (gasp!) so leathered up but aircon is kaput, handbrake is shagged, the engine cuts out randomly and the bodywork is far from pristine, I definitely don't see the attraction wink

Cheers,
Rob
