Condensation alert

Just noticed that this one day of tropical 16°C temperatures has brought my garaged classic out in a sweat. I drove it only two days ago, so it's not been in long-term hibernation. I just took it for another blast to dry it up.

I guess it's due to the large and sudden variation in temperature. The same thing happened to it at about this time of year in 2011. Might be worth you all popping your heads in your garages today to check that your pride and joy is unaffected.

Same here, my nice tiled floor broke out in a sweat along with the cars yesterday!

open your garage doors, open your cars and leave them like that, a good breeze will get rid of condensation in no time. And its a good excuse to poodle about the garage for a while.

I was thinking of an early morning drive tomorrow. Now I know I absolutely have to go....

Buy some silica gel beads on eBay.

Put a load in an old sock, and tie it.

Leave it in the car.

When I left Le Mans two weeks back it was a comfy -14C and thick freezing fog. Here in Capetown it is 30C but despite the temperature changes "oop north" I'm not worried since she is sitting comfortably in her Carcoon.

My wooden bodied and wheeled car love it! They start to rattle if they get too dry.

The plastic cars don't really mind.

But the mgb and rolls will rust looking at frosted glass!


I can't win!
